Old paint hauled off of the graffiti boat
Folly Beach, SCThe first image shows the boat just before the old paint was stripped off on Tuesday, May 1st of 2012. The second shows the slabs of paint that were removed, and the final image shows the boat’s original title numbers, revealed after the paint had been removed. The accrued paint on the boat amounted to five inches in thickness, and a weight that only a bullfozer could lift. It’s sad that this had to happen, but clearly necessary in order for the tradition to continue.
WOW. So glad to see this thing continue on for years to come! But it’s a definite story to think of the number of stories and events held in those 5” thick slabs of paint.
It sucks. Whether its a pet…a job…a part of your identity. Even losing what you never had, sucks.
Sometimes, I have to wonder…how much more am I going to lose. And what can I do to just….get something in my grasp again.
